MAKE GOOD USE OF GOD’S RESOURCES (2)

Spread the love

DAY 28 of FASTING AND PRAYER

Bible Texts: Lk.19:11-26, Gen.1:26-28, Ps.1:3, 1Sam.3:13, Jn.3:27, Gen.1:26-28, Eph.6:4, 1Pet.3:7, Deut.6:7-9, Eph.5:25-29, Ecc.4:9-12, Ps.127:3-5, Ecc.9:11, Jas.1:5, Gal.4:19, 2Tim.2:6

Every husbandman is a manager of God’s resources just like the first husbandman, Adam (Gen.2:14). The ability of the husbandman to manage God’s resources is what makes him the good and godly manager.

We also learned that your wife, your children, your finances, skills, and gifts are resources that only God can give. We also learnt that the perfect will of God for the husbandman is to make good use of these resources so they can bear good and godly fruits.

Today, let us go further to understanding who the husbandman is as the good and godly manager of God’s resources.

For I (God) have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth because his sons made themselves vile and he restrained them not (1Sam.3:13)

The above Scripture tells us what God said to Eli, the Priest, when he did not put to good use the resource (his children) God gave to him.

What is the lesson, therefore, that you and I can learn? The lesson is that God doesn’t waste resources, and so He wants you to use them profitably. So how do I make good use of the resources God has given to me?

The first thing to do is to understand the original plan of God for the resources he has given to you. A wise man once said that if purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable.

Your wife has been given to you by God for a purpose and that purpose is found in these Bible passages (Eph.5:25-29, 1Pet.3:7, Ecc.4:9-12). God has given you children because there is something He wants to achieve on the earth through them (Deut.6:6-8, Is.8:18, Ps.127:3-5). The finances, skills, and gifts are given to you by God so you can abound in good works (Gen.12:2, 2Cor.9:5-11). I encourage you to please study the word of God in these passages highlighted because it will help your understanding of the purposes for which God has entrusted His resources in your care as the manager.

Secondly, you must learn to travail in intercession by praying for the wisdom of God to rest upon you so you can make good use of God’s resources in your care (Gal.4:19, Jas.1:5, Philp.2:13, Jn.14:26, Rom.9:16, Ecc.9:11). In Proverbs chapter 4, the Scripture says that wisdom is the principal thing (Pro.4:7). With the wisdom of God at work in your life, you are not only empowered, you also learn and know how best to put your wife, your children, finances, skills and gifts to good use, bringing glory and praise to Jesus Christ.

And as you make good use of the resources God has given to you, you will be the first person to enjoy the fruits thereof.

The husbandman that laboureth shall be the first partaker of the fruits (2Tim.2:6)

Hallelujah!
