PRODUCE GOOD AND GODLY FRUITS (2)

DAY 41 of FASTING AND PRAYER

Bible Texts: Jn.10:37-38, 1Tim.5:8, Jas.2:14-18, Col.3:19, 2Tim.3:5-7, Eph.6:4, 2Tim.2:6, Deut.6:7-8, Ps.23:1, Jn.10:10, Acts.10:32-35, Dan.1:8, Deut.28:1.

If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works, that ye may know and believe that the Father is in me and I in Him (Jn.10:37-38)

God wants every husbandman to bear good and godly fruits after the image and likeness of Jesus Christ because that is the only way he can prove to his wife, his children and in the marketplace that he is the good and godly man, husband and father (Jas.2:14-18).

Ye are the salt of the earth……Ye are the light of the world…..Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matt.5:14-16)

As the husbandman, if you say you are the good and godly man, husband and father, it must show in your works. It must show in your speech and conduct. It must show in your relationship with your wife, your children and others. It must show in your actions and the way you respond to issues that concern your wife and your children.

But what does it take for me to do good works?

The first responsibility is to have and maintain a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. This requires you to repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour (Jn.3:7, Rom.12:12, 2Cor.5:17).

You must feed and continue feeding on the word of God for the development of your inner man (Jn.5:39, Jn.8:32, 2Tim.2:15). The more you give attention to the study and meditation of the word of God, the more you grow in the knowledge of God the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit (Ezk.2:2).

You must engage and continue engaging the weapon of prayer and fasting for empowerment to do good works (Mk.9:29, Jn.15:5, Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13).

Finally, you must take steps to always do good and godly works by obeying all the commandments of Scripture as they relate to what God commands for you as the man, husband and father (Dan.1:8, Deut.28:1, Jas.2:14-18).

God wants to be glorified in your life. He has chosen you to be His ambassador on earth, beginning in your home and market place. The proof of your stewardship as the good and godly man, husband and father is your good and godly works.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a fruitful vine as the man, husband and father.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to take full responsibility to studying Your words to know Your perfect will for my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to do good and godly works and let my life bring You glory and praise.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am a fruitful vine and I produce good and godly works because that is my heritage in Christ as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Please, pray this prayer in faith.

Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
