WRESTLING THE REAL ENEMY

DAY 44 of FASTING AND PRAYER

Bible Texts: Jn.10:9-11, Est.7:6, 1Tim.5:14, 1Pet.5:8, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29, Rev.12:11, Matt.16:22-23, Gal.4:19, Eph.2:2, Eph.6:12

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph.6:12)

Let me start today’s teaching by telling you that your wife is not your enemy. Satan is. The world is. Your wife is not the devil, and whatever negative attitude you see happening or coming from your wife, which appears to be hurting, is instigated and influenced by an invisible force (Eph.2:2). And it is that force that you must deal with the same way Jesus Christ dealt with the invincible force behind Peter’s misbehavior (Matt.16:22-24).

The ultimate purpose of satan, sin and the world is to steal the peace and friendship you are enjoying with your wife, kill the joy that fills your home, and destroy your home (Jn.10:10). Whatever you notice about your wife and children that is ugly and ungodly is coming from the devil. It is spiritual corruption.

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world according to the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience (Eph.2:2)

You must fight the forces of satan, sin and the world influencing your wife unto disobedience and ungodliness.

But how do I wrestle and overcome the forces of satan, sin and the world influencing this misbehavior, disobedience and ungodliness?

You wrestle and overcome these forces by the spiritual weapons of the word of God, prayer and fasting (Mk.9:29, Lk.18:1, Gal.4:19). Once you take charge spiritually, then your instructions, admonitions and influence become manifested in her life because the spiritual controls the physical.

You must also keep engaging the weapon of the blood and name of Jesus Christ (Rev.12:11). The Word of God tells you that at the name of Jesus Christ every knee bows in heaven, on earth and under the earth.

You must continue to engage the weapon of faith in God and His word by making bold declarations about who God says your wife is (Ps.139:14, 1Pet.3:7, Heb.11:32-33).

Therefore, as you lead your wife as the good and godly shepherd, you must refocus your energy to contend with the real enemy-satan, sin, and the world-trying to defile your glorious heritage as the husbandman. You must wrestle satan, sin and the world because it is the wisdom for living the victorious life as the good and godly husbandman.

The next time your wife speaks, behaves, or conducts herself in ways that is unbecoming of a good and godly wife, know that the spirit of the wind of disobedience is behind it. Rebuke the spirit, instantly. Declare, “you ungodly forces, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus“.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to deal with the spiritual forces of satan, sin and the world.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my eyes to see the strongholds of the enemy and empower me to break it.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live the supernatural and victorious life.

FAITH CONFESSION

I exercise my authority in God over the influences of satan, sin and the world and enthrone the perfect will of God for my life to fulfill my mandate as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Please, pray this prayer in faith.

Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
