SEEKING THE THINGS ABOVE (1)

Spread the love

DAY 46 of FASTING AND PRAYER

Bible Texts: Col.3:1-2, Ps.121:1-2, Jn.1:1-3, Ps.1:1-3, 2Tim.2:15, Jn.5:39, Jas.1:22-25, Philp.2:13, Pro.4:7, Jas.1:5-6, Heb.11:2, Jas.1:22-25

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God (Col.3:1-3)

As the husbandman, where have you set your affection? Is it on things above or things on the earth? What occupies your mind? What and who have you chosen to believe? Are you seeking the things which are above or things on earth?

The above Scripture admonishes you and I to set our attention and affection on things that are above because what is from above is better than what is on earth. This is very important for your leadership as the good and godly husbandman because as you lead yourself, your wife and children, challenges will come that will test where your focus is, whether it is on God or on the things on earth.

So, what do I seek from above?

It is God. God is above, and seeking Him is your best bet for a victorious life as the good and godly man, husband and father.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth (Ps.121:1-2)

When you look up to God, you receive help that enables you to live a life well-pleasing as the good and godly husbandman. God is the only Person who can help you to do His perfect will as the good and godly man, husband and father (Philp.2:13). Alcohol, gambling, or adultery cannot help you become the godly husbandman. Rather, it will take you farther away from the path of the glorious ministry of the husbandman.

But what do I receive from above?
