DAY 47 of FASTING AND PRAYER

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God (Col.3:1-3)
Yesterday, we understood from Scriptures that God wants the husbandman to always set his affection on God and His commandments because that is what makes him the good and godly man, husband and father.
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth (Ps.121:1-2)
As the husbandman, your help to become the good and godly man, husband and father and be a blessing to your wife, your children and the world comes from God. Your help does not come from alcohol, gambling, adultery or any ungodly lifestyles.
But what do I receive if I set my affection on God? You receive wisdom from God.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not, and it shall be given to him (Jas.1:5)
God gives wisdom, and His wisdom, when you receive it, empowers you to speak the right words and at the right time. God’s wisdom provides you direction on the steps to take, empowers you to differentiate what is profitable and good from what is destructive and hurting, and helps you to make right decisions in all aspects of your relationships as the man, husband and father. The Bible calls God’s wisdom the principal thing (Pro.4:7).
But how do I set my affection on Jesus Christ?
You set your affection on God through Jesus Christ by giving attention to the study, meditation and practice of the Word of God (Jn.1:1-3, Ps.1:1-3, 2Tim.2:15, Jn.5:39, Jas.1:22-25). No one has ever seen God physically, but through His word, you and I can understand His personality. Secondly, you seek God through Jesus Christ by praying the Word of God in faith into your life. This will empower your relationship with God, and you will enjoy the divine ability to obey and do all that God commands you to do. Prayer brings the power of God to bear in your life, thereby enabling you to function as the good and godly husbandman (Gal.4:19, Jas.1:6, Heb.11:2).
Setting your love for God through Jesus Christ is the master key to functioning as the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every form of distraction and keep my eyes focused on You.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me a heart to trust Your Word.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to function as the good and godly husbandman by Your divine wisdom.
FAITH CONFESSION
I look up to God through Jesus Christ because He is the way, the truth and the life and that is what I need to function as the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.

Now that you have read the devotional, it is very important for you to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Please, pray this prayer in faith.
Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
