WALKING IN THE NEWNESS OF LIFE (2)

DAY 62 of FASTING AND PRAYER

Bible Texts: Gen.1:26-28, Gen.3:1-5, Rom.8:5-6, 2Cor.5:17, Rom.6:1, Ps.24:1, Gal.6:8, 1Cor.2:14, Jn.3:6, Jn.4:24

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be CARNALLY minded is death, but to be SPIRITUALLY minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So, then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. (Rom.8:5-8)

Yesterday, we discovered from the Word of God that God wants the husbandman to be ruled by the Word of God because that is what guarantees his walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus.

But how do I become spiritual and remain so as the good and godly husbandman?

Salvation is the first step in your journey to a life of spirituality. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour, do it now. Today is the day for you to invite Jesus Christ into your life (see the prayer of salvation at the end of this teaching).

You must continue to engage the weapon of prayer and fasting so you become empowered to overcome the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

You must continue to engage the Person of the Holy Spirit so you can be bold to refuse evil and its temptations. You can do this by speaking in tongues.

You must surround yourself with husbands who are also walking in the newness of life because light begets light and darkness begets darkness too.

God wants you to overcome the filthiness of the tongue, lying and deceit, cheating, fornication and adultery, and all forms of ungodliness. God wants your thoughts, words, actions and conduct towards Him, your wife, your children, and others to be influenced by the word of God.

Therefore, ask the Lord Jesus Christ to help you get back on track with those spiritual works which you enjoyed before, but you have lost. Return to God! Return to studying your bible! Return to thinking and acting on the word of God. Return to fellowshipping with others in your local church or fellowship (Ps.1:1-3, Jos.1:6-8, Ps.133:1-3, 1Cor.15:33).

Now is the time to be spiritual because it is your access to a life of peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live by Your Spirit and walk in the newness of life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy every form of carnality in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, restore to me the joy of my salvation.

 FAITH CONFESSION

I give myself to spiritual demands of prayer, word study, fasting and fellowship with God and walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Important Decision To Make Today!

Now that you have read the devotional, it is very important for you to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer in faith.

Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
