THEY BECOME TO YOU WHAT YOU CALL THEM

DAY 63 of FASTING AND PRAYER

Today’s teaching is to remind every husbandman that there is power in what they say to their wife and children. Hence, every husbandman must be careful of what he calls his wife and his children.

And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept and he took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh instead thereof. And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman and brought her unto the man. And Adam (husband) called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living (Gen.2:21-23)

The above Scripture tells us that when God made Eve, He brought her to Adam, the husbandman. Adam called her Eve, the same way he had named other animals and plants that God created. And whatever name Adam called them, that is what they became, including Eve, his wife. This is the wisdom of God for you. Your wife and children become to you what you call them.

If you call your wife and children derogatory names such as stupid, a never-do-well, failure, animal, foolish, useless, or good-for-nothing, they will become so to you. If you call them success, wise, fruitful, supportive, strong, useful, and positively affirm them, they become so to you. This is because the power of life and death is in your tongue, and you will always eat the fruits of what you say.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof (Pro.18:21)

As the good and godly shepherd, you must understand that there is an irrevocable power in your tongue. If you call your wife or your children devils, you will see the manifestation of devilish responses and actions from them. If you call them good and godly, they will manifest good and godly responses to you. This is why God wants you to speak graceful words to your wife and children, regardless of their offences, misbehavior, challenges, or failures.

God is calling you today to redirect your tongue and speak words of peace, honour, respect, grace, motivation, positive affirmation, encouragement and faith to your wife and your children. God wants you to desist from speaking negative words toward them, even when you are unhappy with their behaviours. God wants you to call your wife and children what He has called them from His Word. And I assure you that as you remain consistent in calling them what God says they are, they will become to you what God has made them to be, and you will enjoy peace, honour, faithfulness, respect, success, boldness, and encouragement as the fruits of your lips.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for speaking ungraceful words to my wife and children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill me with the love of Christ and empower my tongue to speak right words to them.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, make the graceful words of my mouth forceful in their lives.

FAITH CONFESSION

I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that my wife and children are gifts from God and they are fearfully and wonderfully made. I speak words of grace and honour to them because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
