INCREDIBLE POWER OF CHRIST’S LOVE (2)

Bible Texts: Eph.5:1-2, Rom.5:5, Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13, Ps.1:1-3, Jos.1:6-8, Eph.5:25, Deut.28:1, Jn.3:7, Acts 1:1, 2Cor.5:17, Eph.1:18-19

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children, and walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor (Eph.5:1-2)

Yesterday, we began to look at the word of God to understand the incredible power of Christ’s love in the life of the husbandman and how that love makes him be like Jesus Christ.

How powerful is the love of Christ when I live it?

The love of Christ empowers you to behave like Christ in your conduct, thinking and responses to your wife and children (Matt.5:14-16). The love of Christ empowers you to forgive and forget offences when you are hurt (Jn.10:1). It also makes you live a sacrificial life for the good of your wife and children (Ps.23:1-6). The love of Christ empowers you always put the interest of your wife and children first, even before thinking of yourself (1Cor.13:4-8, Eph.5:25, Col.3:19, Eph.6:4). The love of Christ empowers you to always look out for the good and improvement of your wife and children, whether they deserve it or not.

How do I then walk in the love of Christ?

The first step is to invite Jesus Christ into your life by praying the prayer of salvation (Jn.3:7). The second step is for you to build on the first invitation by studying your Bible, meditating on the words of Jesus Christ and joining a bible believing church where your spirit man will be nourished (Jos.1:6-8, Ps.1:1-3, 2Cor.5:17). The third step is for you to keep praying the character of Jesus Christ into your life (Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13). Finally, you keep taking steps by your action in practicing what the Bible commands you to do as the man, husband and father in truth and in deed (Deut.28:1-2, Acts 1:1).

As the husbandman, you are made in the image and likeness of Christ (Gen.1:26-28). God wants you to be His true representative on earth, beginning in your home. And the power to become like Him is already in you. All you need to do is be conscious of your new creation status in Christ and walk in love because that is what makes you the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, let Your love be shed abundantly in my heart and let me bear fruits.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to walk in Your love in all that I do.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a living example of Your divine nature, through and through.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ and by it I have the nature of Christ at work in me, and I am walking in love in all that I do because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
