Bible Texts: Mk.15:14-15, 2Pet.2:10, 1Pet.1:7, Heb.11:33, Heb.11:1-3, Matt.7:7, Lk.18:1, Rev.12:10, 1Tim.6:12, 2Tim.1:7, 2Tim.1:13, Jos.1:6-8
But Pilate answered them saying, will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews? For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy (Mk.15:10)
Our focus today is on Mark chapter 15, and you and I can draw lessons from it to readjust our position as husbandmen so we can please Jesus Christ in all things. I trust the Person of the Holy Spirit to reveal Himself to us as husbandmen.
The Scripture in Mark chapter15 tells the story of Jesus Christ and Pontius Pilate. Jesus Christ was wrongfully arrested by the Jews and was brought to Pontius Pilate, who can be described as a judge in our day. The people accused Jesus Christ of so many wrong things and demanded that He be killed. Pontius Pilate heard the request of the accusers of Jesus, but he knew that the allegation against Jesus was false, yet he handed over Jesus Christ to His accusers.
Then Pilate said unto them, why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, crucify him. And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him to be crucified (Mk.15:14-15)
Why did Pilate handover Jesus Christ to the accusers even when he knew Jesus was innocent? He did that because he was afraid of the people.
Now, this is the message. As the good and godly husbandman, you must not be afraid of satan and people; rather, you must stand for what is right based on God’s word as you lead yourself, wife, and children.
For instance, if your wife is not pregnant or has not given you a male child, it does not mean that you should let your parents, siblings, friends, or even relations torment her. You must not be like Pontius Pilate, who is faint-hearted. You must protect your wife and children from satan, sin and the world.
Spirit of boldness and a sound mind (2Tim.1:7)
God has given you the spirit of boldness and a sound mind. So, step out and be the watchman over your wife and children against foxes. Stand up for righteousness.
Hallelujah!
