THE FAITHFUL SERVANT-HUSBANDMAN

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Lk.19:11-26, Philp.2:13, Ps.24:1, 2Tim.2:15, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29, 1Pet.3:7-9, Epg.6:4, Col.3:19, Jn.3:29, Gen.22:18

God wants the husbandman to be faithful in everything he does and over the resources in his care. And our anchor Scripture is the Gospel of Luke, chapter 19, from verses 11 to 26. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that the spirit of faithfulness shall be imparted into your life. Amen.

In Luke 19:11-26, Jesus tells a story about a landowner who entrusted three men with money. Each person was expected to use the funds responsibly and provide an account to the resource owner. When the landowner returned, they all appeared before him to give their reports. The landowner rewarded the three managers based on their results. The first and second managers made a profit from the money given to them, but the third did not. So, the landowner called the first and second managers wise men and the third manager a foolish man.

As the good and godly husbandman, what lessons can you learn from this story?

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness therefore, the world and they that dwell therein (Ps.24:1)

The first lesson is that whatever you have, be it your work, position, your pursuits, your wife and your children, as well as other material and financial assets, are resources God has given to you. This means that God owns everything.

No one receives anything except it be given to him by God (Jn.3:27)

The second lesson is that you are a steward and you are accountable to God, your Master, through Jesus Christ. Your wife, your children, your position, power, finance, and everything you have has been given to you by God, and you are to act as a good steward.

God trusts you, and He has entrusted His resources, including your wife and your children, into your care. You must prove to God that you are a good manager of His assets because that is the evidence that you are the good and godly husbandman.

Hallelujah!
