Enriched Through You

May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. I always thank God for you and for the gracious gifts he has given you, now that you belong to Christ Jesus. Through him, God has enriched your church in every way-with all your eloquent words and all of your knowledge. This confirms that what I told you about Christ is true (1Cor.1:3-6) NLT

I want to draw a very important lesson for the benefit of every husband. And that is, God enriches the followers through their leaders. In the text before us today, the Scripture says, through him, God has enriched your church in every way. God enriched the life of Rebekah through Isaac, her husband (Gen.25:20-21). God enriched Sarah through her husband Abraham (Gen.12:3). God enriched the children of the Recabites through their fathers. And God wants to enrich your wife and children through you. You must understand that the reason why God made you the head of the family and give you a wife and children to lead is so that the anointing that enriches lives can flow to them through you (Ps.133:2). You must understand that it took one man to bring sin to this world. His name was Adam, the husband of Eve. But it took one man to enrich humanity. His name is Jesus Christ. And because Jesus Christ is the perfect example of a good and godly husband and you have his nature in you, you can be the catalyst in the lives of your sheep.

But for you to walk in this truth, you need to be empowered by the Holy Ghost. The Scripture says that, not by power and not by might but my spirit says the Lord… The reason why you need the empowerment is because of the forces of darkness that want to mess you up as a good and godly husband. So, one way you can activate spiritual empowerment is to pray in the Holy Ghost. Now, as you make yourself available to be a channel of enrichment to your wife and children, you will also be enriched. The husbandman that laboureth shall be the first partaker of the fruits (2Tim.2:6). And he that waters others shall be watered also. Your heritage as the head of your family is much more than meat and drink. It is far more precious than the clothes you wear. It is about being a positive influence in the lives of your sheep.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me the pipe that conveys Your goodness to my flock.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, enrich my wife and children in every way possible.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, bless me and make me a blessing to my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am a channel of enrichment to my wife and children and the world because that is what makes me a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
