LAY THE WOOD IN ORDER (1)

For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption, for whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage (2Pet.2:18-19).

The place of order is very important to you as a husband and the spiritual leader in your family fold. Putting things right and living a disciplined life is what strengthens your position before God and your wife and children. Where there is no order, there will be chaos. As the head of your family, you must set order for your flock by helping them to define boundaries and limitations. You also set in order the thoughts of your heart to align with the truth in the word of God. Once your life and family and thoughts are in order, then everything around your life and destiny as the pastor and shepherd over your flock will speak of the blessings of the Lord.

This was the experience of Sarah’s husband, Abraham in Gen.22. And they came to the place which God had told him of and Abraham built an altar there and laid the wood in order and the bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood (Gen.22:9). As a husband, you must fight the spirit of disorderliness in your life and your family kingdom because it limits divine visitation. As powerful as God is, He did not see that everything was very good until He had set the entire heavens and earth in order (Gen.1:1-3, Gen.1:31). Satan thrives in disorderliness. He likes to create confusion and makes people walk without direction. That is what he did in heaven when he attempted to overthrow God from His throne before the angels of God defeated him.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to put my life and that of my family fold in order.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, set my heart to delight in Your words.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me and my family from a life of chaos.

FAITH CONFESSION

I put my life in order according to the word of God because that is what I need to become a good and godly husband to my wife and children in Jesus Name. Amen.
