Main Scriptures: Gen.1:26-31
More Scriptures: Ex.12:28, Jn.3:16, Jas.3:17
And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness and let him have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air…….So, God created man in his own image…..And God blessed them and God said unto them be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth (Gen.1:26-28).
Fifthly, the established husbandman is humble yet confident. He draws his confidence from God and not his might. He has a master-servant mentality. He is aware that he is the head but appreciates that he has been made by God to serve his wife and children with all his might, strength and soul. As a humble and confident shepherd, he does not see his service to his wife and children as a threat to his position as the head. Rather, he sees it as the gateway to maintaining his authority as the head of the family. Jesus Christ, the Perfect example of how every godly husbandman is expected to function says, he that must be the greatest must be willing to serve. So, at the root of your confidence is your service to your sheep-seeking their wellbeing even when it is not convenient and does not make rational sense to you. It was not convenient for God to send His only beloved Son to the earth, yet He did it because He loved us. It was not easy for Jesus Christ to take the long walk to the Cross, yet He went the distance because He loved us. He was humble and did not make Himself of any reputation, even though He was God and had the power to stop the assault. He was humbled to the Cross and God exalted Him above every other name. So, the question to you is, are you an established husbandman? I want to encourage you to be humble enough to examine yourself daily as the Scripture has commanded. As the shepherd over the sheep, it is always easier to blame others for your failures because you don’t want to be seen as weak. One of the secrets I have discovered from the word of God which will help you to become good and godly man, husband and father is your ability to always look inwards by examining yourself and considering your ways. This explains why Jesus was quick to warn the Pharisees about cleaning the mote in their eyes before trying to remove the speck in other people’s eyes. God has given you a kingdom to rule over. He gave you a wife and children. He made you the head of your family. And He has empowered you with all that you need to succeed as the godly husbandman and leader. You must make your position count positively for God and for your wife and children because that is what makes you THE COMPLETE AND ESTABLISHED GODLY MAN, HUSBAND AND FATHER.
