LIVING LIKE JESUS CHRIST (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: John 15:4-6

More Scriptures: Is.61:9, Pro.31:28, Joel 2:22

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, bears much fruits (Jn.15:5). There is an eternal relationship between the vine and the branches and each one has a role to play. However, only one that is the vine gives value, beauty and meaning to the other-the branches. So, Jesus speaking said that He is the vine, and everyone who connects to the vine is the branch. Furthermore, it is the vine that gives nutrients to the branch and without the vine the branch will die. The truth in this is significant to you as the godly husbandman. Jesus said that He is the vine. And this implies that you can be likened to Christ. So, you are the vine from where your sheep derives their existence. The Bible tells us that in Christ we have our being. And in Gen.2:18-24, the Word of God tells us that your wife flows out of you.

So, in your family kingdom, you are the head of your family and your wife and children are the branches. The glory of the branches is determined by the quality of the vine. It is like precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, that went down to the skirts of his garments (Ps.133:2).  As the vine, you are to nourish and feed your sheep with good and godly nutrients that they may grow into the very image and likeness of Jesus Christ, because the quality and outcomes of your wife and children is a direct function of the quality of nutrients they get from you, their vine. If as a vine, you nourish them in the way they should go in Christ, they will turn out as good and godly seeds. Just as you cannot separate the quality of the branch from its vine, so also you cannot separate how your sheep would turn out from the input you have made into their lives. This is why your position as the head of your family is critical to the growth and development of your wife and children. But for you to operate as a true vine, you must carry this mentality that you are the vine. You must see yourself as a true vine, because as a man thinks in his heart so is he. You cannot be greater than your thoughts. As the head of your family, see every day as an opportunity to feed your flock with nutrients (spiritual, mentally, physical, emotional, material and financial) that would make them and not destroy them. And as you function as a true vine the following blessings will attend to you. And their seed (children) shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people. ALL THAT SEE THEM (YOUR CHILDREN) SHALL ACKNOWLEDGE THEM THAT THEY ARE THE SEED WHICH THE LORD HAS BLESSED (Is.61:9).   She watches over the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. HER CHILDREN RISE UP AND CALL HER BLESSED. HER HUSBAND ALSO AND HE PRAISES HER (Pro.31:27-28).

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me the good vine indeed to my wife and children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, let the things that pertain to life and godliness flow through me to my sheep.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, renew a right spirit in me and help me to nourish my flock richly in all things.

FAITH CONFESSION

I receive power from high to function as the true vine to my wife and children because I want to be a good and godly husband to them in Jesus Name. Amen.
