HAVE THE SPIRITS OF CHRIST IN YOU

Main Scripture: Is.11:1-3

And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him……(Is.11:2).

As the head of your family, God has called you into leadership. However, you cannot effectively lead if you don’t possess the Spirit of Jesus Christ. I mean the virtues of Jesus Christ. In our reading today, the Scripture says that Jesus Christ, the Head of the husbandhood has certain spirits. It was the outworking of these spirits in Him that helped in the fulfillment of His ministry on earth. He accomplished in three and half year what no other leader has achieved till date and until eternity.

It is true that the demands and responsibilities of the good and godly husbandman are enormous. Sometimes, they can be overwhelming. But when you have the Spirit of Christ in you, you will overcome every challenge and be victorious as the good and godly man, husband and father. When the Spirit from the Lord comes to rule in your life, all the hate, bickering, mistrust, unfaithfulness, and unhappiness between you and you wife and children and even those around you will end.

Now what are these spirits? The Bible outlines them in Isaiah chapter 11 and verse 2 and 3. The spirit of WISDOM, the spirit of UNDERSTANDING, the spirit of COUNSEL, the spirit of MIGHT, the spirit of KNOWLEDGE and the spirit of the FEAR OF GOD. If you must be the husbandman that God intends for you to be, then you must ensure that these spirits are in operation in your life. For instance, you will need wisdom to relate with your wife and children, when you consider what God’s command says about your relationship with your wife in 1Peter chapter 3 and verse 7 and your children in Ephesians chapter 6 and verse 4.

As the good and godly husbandman, you need the spirit of might to withstand any form of satanic attack targeted at your family. Don’t forget that you are the gate keeper of your house and until you let down your guard, the adversaries, satan, sin and the influence of the world cannot come in.

For you to access the Spirit of Christ, you must have a personal relationship with the custodian of the spirits, Jesus Christ. Having a relationship with Jesus gives you access to His life and nature. Secondly, you must continually ask God to impart your life with His spirits. This is so because every level of challenge requires its own level of scriptural strategy in line with God’s word. You must crave for the Spirit of Christ because that is what makes all the difference.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

•           Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with all the spirits of Christ.

•           Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to function maximally by Your Spirit.

•           Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every ungodly spirit and influence.

FAITH CONFESSION 

I walk in the fullness of the Spirit of Jesus Christ because that is what empowers me to function as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
