Main Scriptures: Luke 18:1
More Scriptures: Eph.6:18, Rom.12:12, I Thess.5:17
And he (Jesus Christ) spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not faint. (Luke 18:1).
As the good and godly shepherd, if you do not want to faint when the challenges and pressure of life show up, empower your inner man with prayer by the word of God. Many husbandmen have giving up on life, their sheep and their sheepfold because of the storm of hurt, disappointment, rejection and failure. That is not the will of God for you. This is why Jesus Christ admonishes you and I to make praying a lifestyle and not a one-off affair.
In the book of Job, the Scripture says, there is a spirit in man. It is this spirit man that is empowered by the weapon of prayer. If the spirit in you is strong, it is impossible for you to give up, not matter the challenges. For instance, the pressure of dealing with a disobedient wife, handling wayward children, struggling financially to meet your obligations to your wife and children and other commitments, struggling with addiction may be intense. It is the weapon of prayers that gives you the strength to carry on. Prayer is the answer to that challenge that you are going through.
The time to pray more is now. As the head of the family, you must appreciate that challenges will come your way. Some will come announced, while others will not give you notice. In whatever way these problems come, confront them with the weapon of prayer. Very importantly as the head of the family, you must be prepared at all times. Satan and his agents are always going about looking for those they will devour. It is only a prepared husbandman that can overcome them.
But what does it mean to pray always? It means developing a patterned prayer life for your personal growth and development. It also means having a continuous devotion with God. Praying always is the answer to fainting.
SPIRITUAL EXRCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, rekindle my prayer life by Your Spirit and breath fresh life into me.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me how to pray and let me pray according to Your will always.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the spirit of weariness.
FAITH CONFESSION
I give myself to praying always as a lifestyle because that is my anchor for victory as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
