FAITHFULNESS IS YOUR HERITAGE

Bible Texts: Col.3:7-9, Gen.2:24-25, Jas.1:6, 3Jn:8, Eph.5:25, 1Tim.3:2-4, Ps.23:2, Matt.6:22, Gen.18:19, Philp.4:8

Faithfulness is your heritage in Christ. Faithfulness is a virtue you must covet and intentionally live for as you lead your life, wife and children. So, the question is this. Are you loyal to your wife and children? Are you loyal to your employer or boss? Are you faithful in your discharge as the good and godly man, husband and father? These are questions every husbandman must daily asks and answer.

As the good and godly husbandman, you must live a faithful life and demonstrate loyalty to your wife and children. When you are faithful, your wife and children will trust you. You must understand that your wife and children will not trust what you say or where you go because you are the head. You have to demonstrate to them that what you say is what you mean and where you go is actually the place you are going. The Scripture commands that our light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify God who is in heaven (Matt.5:14-16). Until your wife and children see your conduct as reflecting what is pure, lovely and of good report, they will continue to doubt you. So, your loyalty to them is what motivates them to be loyal to you. You must first sow the seed of loyalty into their lives before they can respond to you faithfully.

But how do I become faithful to my wife and children? You become faithful by being truthful to your wife and children. This includes being truthful to your wife in all things including your journeys, finances, and business as well as in all matters. The Word of God says, Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds (Col.3:9). As the head of the family, you owe your wife the duty of telling her the truth. If you are going to work, tell her you are going to work. If you are travelling for an official assignment outside of town, tell her you will be out of town. If you have a property or you’re building a house in any location or part of the world, let her know in totality. Your wife is not your enemy. God has given her to you to be a blessing and not a burden.

Faithfulness is the pathway to fruitfulness. Make your life open to your wife and be loyal to her.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be truthful to my wife and children all the time.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to speak to truth from an inward heart.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from lies and deceit.

FAITH CONFESSION

I make my life an open epistle to my wife and children even as I speak the truth to them from an inward heart because that is what makes me a good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
