By the grace of God, and the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, we focus on the Matthew chapter 5 and verses 14 through to 16 to learn lessons that will make us grow up as good and godly husbandmen.
Ye are the salt of the earth, but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick and IT GIVETH LIGHT UNTO ALL THAT ARE IN THE HOUSE. Let your light so shine before me, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matt.5:13-16) KJV
It is very important to begin this teaching by acknowledging that your true transformation begins from within before it flows outside. From the Word of God in Matthew chapter 5, it is the change that happens to you that gives light to everyone on the house. That is to say that every change from without begins from within. You are the change agent.
As the good and godly husbandman, your decision to improve yourself consistently in the way of the Lord and in your relationship with your wife, children and other people is an attitude you must desire and maintain. You must consider the choices you make on a daily basis to see if it is consistent with what Jesus Christ wants.
You cannot continue to live your life outside of God’s will and expect to make a positive impact in the lives of your wife and children. This is why those negative and ungodly things that you do to your wife and children and think it doesn’t matter must stop. You are the shining light to your wife, children and the world. You are the salt that gives flavor to the lives of your wife, children and the world. You are the change that God wants to bring the change your wife and children need.
But how do I become transformed and become both salt and light? The first is that you must be born again, that is you must repent of your sinful life and invite Jesus Christ to become Your Lord and Saviour. The second is that you must develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as a necessity. The third is that you must develop the lifestyle of engaging in spiritual exercises of the study of and meditation on God’s word, prayer, fasting and fellowship with other godly husbandmen.
Let your light so shine. It is your change that brings the change you want to see in the lives of your wife and children.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every spirit of corruption and sin.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to effect the changes You would require in my life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me a heart to remain meek and be willing to change.
FAITH CONFESSION
I take responsibility to effect the positive changes within me because that is my pathway to becoming the good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
