INVITATION TO THE MARRIAGE CEREMONY

Bible Texts: Jn.2:1-11, Jn.14:16, Jn.15:5, Jn.16:33, Job.34:29

Have you ever imagined how your birthday, wedding or any other celebration would be if you had invited the President of your country as a special guest and he or she honours your invitation? I am very sure, it will not just be a special moment for you, it will remain evergreen in your heart.

Now, think about giving a special invitation to Jesus Christ to be your special guest in your life and in your leadership role as the husbandman and imagine what great and positive difference that will make in your life. That was exactly what happened in the marriage at Cana.

And the third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee and the mother of Jesus was there. And both Jesus was called and his disciples to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, they have no wine….His mother saith unto the servants, whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. …..Jesus saith unto them, fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them draw out now and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler had tasted the water that was made wine……the governor called the bridegroom. And saith unto him, every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine and when men have well drunk then that which is worse but thou hast kept the good wine until now (Jn.2:1-11).

Jesus Christ was invited to the wedding ceremony. Unfortunately, the wine got finished and the servants came to His mother to inform her that they had no wine. She directed them to meet Jesus Christ for solution. And when they met with Jesus, He gave them certain instructions. They obeyed the instructions and the result was that the bridegroom was saved from embarrassment and the wedding was successful.

That is the message for you today. God wants you to invite Jesus Christ into your life, home and in your roles as the good and godly man, husband and father. When you invite Jesus Christ into your life, He teaches, instructs and guides you in the way you should go, how and when you should go about it. In John Gospel chapter 15 and verse 5, the word of God says, without me you can do nothing (Jn.15:5). Jesus Christ in your life and your willingness to obey all His instructions as revealed in the Bible for you as the man, husband and father is what empowers the fulfillment and execution of your mandate and calling as the good and godly husbandman.

Would you want to invite Jesus Christ into your boat today? Please, invite Him and you will not regret it.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for keeping You out of my roles and my relationships with my wife and children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I invite You into my life, roles and relationship with my wife and children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to obey all Your instructions for me as the man, husband and father.

FAITH CONFESSION

I invite Jesus Christ into my life, my roles and relationship with my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
