In the next two days, let us consider an important person in the life of the husbandman, who is that person and the worth of the person. To the husbandman everyone is important but the most important person that completes the equation of the ministry of the husbandhood is the wife, a prudent wife for that matter.
Every husbandman wants a prudent wife. It is one desire that both the rich and poor want. It is a high priority for him. A prudent wife doesn’t come from a rich or a poor background. A prudent wife also doesn’t come from educational qualification, beauty, height or tribe. So, the husbandman is not asking for too much if he wants a prudent wife. Infact, it is the perfect will of God for the husbandman to have a prudent wife. But the question is this, who gives a prudent wife and where does she come from?
The Word of God in Proverbs provides the answer.
House and riches are the inheritance of fathers and a prudent wife is from God (Pro.19:14)
A prudent wife comes from God. God created your wife and, so He has the power to build prudence into her life.
But what is prudence? Prudence simply means to be wise. It also means to be judicious with finances, words and decisions. What this means therefore is that when you have a prudent wife, you have a wife who operates in the wisdom of God. She knows how to handle finances and opportunities. She knows when to talk and when to be quiet. She knows when to hold onto a relationship and when to let go. She senses dangers and avoids them. The truth is that you cannot have a prudent wife and still have sleepless nights. When you have a prudent wife, your joy and peace will be full.
Consider these verses of Scriptures about the importance of prudence.
The simple believes every word but the prudent man looks well to his going (Pro.14:15).
The simple inherit folly but the prudent are crowned with knowledge (Pro.14:18).
As the husbandman, you must come to agreement with God that there are so much benefits a prudent wife will bring to you (Am.3:3). And so, you must work with Him to have a prudent wife. You must stand in the gap for your wife and entreat the Lord by His Spirit to impart her with divine wisdom. You are her shepherd. You are her pastor. You are her priest. If there is any legacy you will want to leave behind, it is that of prudent partner.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, make my wife a prudent woman and wise helper.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, stir up the Spirit of faith in my heart to believe You for a prudent wife.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill my heart with love for my wife and children.
FAITH CONFESSION
I have a prudent wife from God because it is my heritage as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
