LOOK TO JESUS FOR GUIDANCE

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Heb.12:2, Matt.6:22, Acts.1:1, Jn.15:5, Rom.5;5, Jn.3:16, Eph.5:25, Lk.12:15, Mk.9:35, Matt.26:26, Jn.14:6, Matt.24:13

Today, there are so many things calling for the attention of the husbandman. There are so many options available for the husbandman to choose from but which is the best for him? This is why today’s teaching begins with a question for the husbandman to answer.

Who do you look to for guidance and which option is the best for you?

Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God (Heb.12:2)

Jesus Christ is the best option for the husbandman. He is the Person the husbandman should look to for guidance. As the husbandman who is called by God to function as the good and godly man, husband and father, you must look to Jesus Christ as your perfect example. His life and conduct while on earth provides you a template to work with. He demonstrated all the attributes of the good and godly man, husband and father.

But why Jesus Christ and not any other?

I am the way, the truth and the life (Jn.14:6)

Jesus Christ is the way that leads you to becoming a fulfilled husbandman. Jesus Christ is the truth you believe and trade with to lead your life and the lives of your wife and children, successfully. He is the life that gives meaning to your existence and leadership roles as the husbandman. And this is why you must always ask this question before you act or react as the husbandman. What would Jesus do in this circumstance?

But for you to look to Jesus Christ, you must first have a personal relationship with Him. You must love Him by making Him the Lord over your life and doing all that He commands you to do. Secondly, you must pray for enablement to stay on course with Jesus Christ, regardless of the pressures and challenges. This is because without the help of God, you will be distracted to seek other examples outside Jesus Christ. Finally, you must keep searching the Bible to discover the lifestyle of Jesus Christ while He walked on earth. This is because the more you search and know how He lived, related and led while on earth, the better your understanding on how you are to live your life as the good and godly husbandman.

Therefore, make a commitment each day to be like Jesus Christ as you lead yourself, wife and children because that is the road map that provides you the guidance to becoming the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from ungodly counsel and associations.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to stay on course with Jesus Christ.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to learn at the footsteps of Jesus Christ and let my life reflect His in all that I do.

FAITH CONFESSION

I look to Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of my faith and I live His life as I lead myself, wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
