Bible Texts: Gen.1:26-28, Gen.2:21-25, Gen.2:5-8, Gen.2:16, Gen.2:18-24, Ps.24:1-2, Heb.11:6, Lk.18:1, Gal.4:19, Eph.6:4, 1Tim.3:2-4, Eph.5:25, Matt.19:4-6, 3Jn.1:2
The biggest challenge facing the husbandman is his inability to know who he is. Today’s husbandman is suffering from identity crisis and this has accounted for the increasing cases of irresponsible and unfit husbandmen, bringing shame and embarrassment to the ministry of the husbandman.
By the leading of the Person of the Holy Spirit, we shall be revisiting the subject of our identity so that we examine ourselves again to see who we are and what God wants for us as husbandmen.
In the next couple of days, I shall be teaching on the different types of man-a man, the man and the godly man. My prayers for you is that the Person of the Holy Spirit will illuminate your heart with the truth to the end that you become THE GODLY MAN in Jesus name. Amen.
The perfect will of God for the manhood is to make him prosper and succeed (3Jn:2). The manhood is precious to God because it was His first creation. And God said let us make man in our image and likeness (Gen.1:26-28). Every other thing-the birds of the air, the firmaments, the animals, were all spoken into existence. God said “let there be light and there was light”. Man was the only creature that God formed and breathed the breath of life into and man become a living soul. It is also very important for you to understand that there is a distinction between a man, the man and the godly man. I want to encourage you to examine yourself after this teaching series to see who you are.
Let’s start!
A man is that male figure of the human creation. He has differentiating external features that distinguish him from the female. So when you see a man you can easily recognize him by those characteristics. He is different from the man and Genesis chapter 2 and verse 5 illustrates this. And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew, for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth and there was not A MAN to till the ground (Gen.2:5).
The man is that male figure who possesses the signs of manhood, he also demonstrates the qualities of manhood. He is a hard worker. He is mentally, emotionally and physically strong. He is fearless, bold and confident. He demonstrates dignity of labour and does legitimate work. These attributes are summed up in Scriptures. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul. And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden and there he put THE MAN who he had formed (Gen.2:8).
Why did God put the man in the garden? It is for him to work and not to walk aimlessly or sit idle. And the Lord God took THE MAN and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it (Gen.2:14). To dress a thing and to work it out require diligence, commitment and excellence. It is hard work.
Who is the godly man?
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to seek Your ways as the godly man.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with supernatural strength to abide by Your demands of the godly man.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to take delight in coming into Your presence always.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am created in the image and likeness of God and I live by this truth because that is what makes me the good and godly man to my wife and children in Jesus Name. Amen.
