What kind of mind must you have to influence your thoughts, action and conduct towards living like the good and godly husbandman? Why is your mind so powerful? The Scripture gives the answer, while you must bear in your heart that out of the mind proceeds everything about you.
Let this mind be in you, even the mind of Christ (Philp.2:5)
The answer is that you must have the mind of Christ if you must function like Jesus Christ as the good and godly husbandman. As the husbandman, your mind is the seat of your decisions whether good or evil. Your mind is the gateway to your life because whatever you allow into your mind will influence your action, either positively or negatively.
Now consider these instructions from the Word of God for your mind.
Guard your heart (mind) with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life (Pro.4:23)
And Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman says this.
Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Lk.6:45)
The will of God for you as the husbandman is to be the good and godly man, husband and father. God wants your words, action, conduct and responses to reflect the character and nature of Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the husbandman. This is why He wants you to have the mind of Christ and that is the only to live a profitable life as the husbandman.
But how do I have the mind of Christ?
The first step for you is to be born again by repenting of your sins and accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour, and continue to grow the relationship with Jesus (Jn.3:4-8, 2Cor.5:17). Secondly, you must guard the company you allow into your mind by controlling what you watch, read, and who you listen to. You must also guard the relationships you keep and be intentional about the kind environment you want to have. The Scripture says this
Bad company corrupt good manners (1Cor.15:33)
Thirdly, you must watch and pray as a lifestyle so that you will not fall into temptation (Mk.14:38). As you pray and watch, the Person of the Holy Spirit helps you to build your inner man by the word of God to be like Jesus. The Comforter, the Holy Spirit, he will teach all things and guide you into all truth (Jn.14:26).
As the husbandman, you cannot and will not grow to become good and godly if you do not take steps in that direction of Scriptures. And the journey to becoming all that God wants you to be as the good and godly man, husband and father starts with the state of your mind. Therefore, let the mind of Christ be in you and your life will reflect His personality and you will be a blessing to all.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for allowing ungodly relationships into my life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from wrong company and resources.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to always feed my mind with Your words of wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
FAITH CONFESSION
I guard my mind with all diligence and protect it from the influences of satan sin and the world because I am on journey to becoming the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
