COMMIT YOURSELF TO CONTINOUS LEARNING

Spread the love

Bible Texts: 1Cor.8:2-3, Philp.3:13, 1Jn.5:17, Jn.5:39, Pro.4:18, Matt.5:14-16, 1Jn.4:6, Jas.1:22-26, Rom.6:3, 1Tim.3:2

How do you and I grow and continue to grow in our commitments and responsibilities as the good and godly men, husbands and fathers? And just like the Scriptures say in Proverbs chapter 4 and verse 8, that the path of the just man is like a shining light that shines brighter and brighter unto a perfect, are you getting better in the quality of your thoughts, conduct, actions and attitudes which makes you fit to be called the good and godly husbandman?

This is the challenge.

And if any man thinks that he knoweth anything, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know (1Cor.8:2)

The more you learn about the things of God and His principles for the husbandman, and you practice them, the quicker you grow and the better you become. This is why you must continue to study the Bible as a lifestyle and do all that it commands you to do as the man, husband and father.

As the man, husband and father, there are lot of instructions God has given which are designed to make you become good and godly husbandman. And until you search the Scriptures, you will not know the mind of God for you and this will make you to continue to live below God’s standard for you.

Now what must I do?

Search the Scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life, and they are they which testify of me (Jn.5:39)

Study to show thyself approved unto God as a workman who is not ashamed but rightly dividing the word of truth (2Tim.2:15)

As the good and godly husbandman who wants to grow, develop and expand his leadership influence, you must continue to evaluate your knowledge base. You must learn, unlearn and relearn. You must continue to seek for new ways of improving your leadership skills from the word of God.

This is the testimony of Apostle Paul, about the need for learning as a weapon for growth.

Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more. Circumcised the eight day of the stock of Israel of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews, as touching the law, a Pharisee. Concerning zeal, persecuting the church, touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. What things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. That I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made comfortable unto his death. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:4-10,13-14)

Whatever, you think you know now cannot be compared to what you do not know and have not yet discovered in the word of God. There are new insights and truths you can get from the word of God that will help you in your relationships, finances, health, values, work and in so many areas. And each time you discover new truth from the word of God and practice it, you move up the ladder in leading yourself, your wife and children in ways that pleases the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Therefore, I encourage you to develop a never-ending search of God’s perfect will for you as the man, husband and father from the word of God-The Bible. It is your pathway to continous growth and development as the good and godly man, husband and father.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

•           Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to continue to search the Scriptures to know Your perfect will for me as the husbandman.

•           Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy the power of pride and arrogance in my life and fill me with the Spirit of grace and humility.

•           Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me a teachable spirit and empower me to do Your perfect will at all times.

FAITH CONFESSION

I search and keep searching the Bible so that I know and keep knowing the truth and practicing what God commands me to do because I want to grow and remain the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.
