THE FRUITS YOU BEAR DEFINES WHO YOU ARE

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Gal.5:22-24, Acts 1:1, Acts 10:38, Heb.12:2, Gen.8:22, Mk.9:29, Matt.7:7, Lk.18:1, Jn.3:5-7, 2Cor.5:17, 1Cor.13:4-8, Matt.5:14-16, Ps.1:1-3

Let’s begin today’s teaching by asking this question. What spiritual fruits are you producing as the man, husband and father? Before you answer, please let us read Galatians chapter 5 and verses 22 to 24 with a loud voice.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires (Gal.5:22-24)

The perfect will of God for you is that you bear spiritual fruits after the nature and character of Jesus Christ who is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman. This is because it is the fruits you bear that define who you are and what you are called, whether the good and godly husbandman or not.

The scripture says,

By their fruits you shall know them (Matt.7:16)

But for you to bear the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control as you lead your life and the lives of your wife and children, you must have the seeds of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control planted firmly in your heart. What this means is that you cannot produce the fruits for which you did not plant seeds. And if you want the seeds that will make you produce spiritual fruits, you must ask the Holy Spirit to shed the seeds abundantly in your heart and empower you to bear the fruits. That is where the journey begins.

For the love of Christ is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Rom.5:5)

The Person of the Holy Spirit is the carrier of the seeds that produce spiritual fruits that you require to justify your calling as the good and godly husbandman. He is also the Person who empowers you to produce these fruits in your life as you as the man, husband and father (Jn.14:26, Jn.15:5, Jn.16:24). Therefore, reach out to the Person of the Holy Spirit and ask Him to fill you with the nature of Jesus Christ and help you to display the Christ-like nature in all that you do, say, respond or react to. He is always willing to help if you are ready to come to Him, honestly and willingly.

There are three significant responsibilities you must be committed to, if you want to bear the fruits of the spirit after the pattern of Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman.

The first is that you must have and keep sustaining a quality relationship with Jesus Christ by being born again and renewing your mind by the word of God as a lifestyle (Jn.3:5-7, 2Cor.5:17). The second is for you to pray for the spiritual seeds to be firmly planted in your heart (Matt.7:7, Philp.2:13). The third is for you to engage the forces of prayer and fasting for empowerment to be able to bear the fruits of the spirit (Mk.9:29, Jn.15:5, Gal.4:19).

The fruits you bear for all to see define who you are. Let the light and the life of Christ shine in you and through you for all to see because that is what makes you the good and godly man, husband and father (Matt.5:14-16). Praise the Lord!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for bearing ungodly, ungodly and unrighteous fruits.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, plant in me good and godly seeds.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to produce the fruits of the spirit in great measure.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am working with the Person of the Holy Spirit to receive spiritual seeds and I am now empowered to produce the fruits of the Spirit after the nature Jesus Christ because that is what makes me become the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
