This is the word of the Lord for you today. “The Lord shall increase your greatness and He shall comfort you on every side (Ps.71:21)”
Happy new month! I welcome you all to the month of October 2024. I have no doubt that God has been faithful to you and yours these past nine (9) months and I am confident that the new month and the months following shall be times of refreshing for you in Jesus name. Amen.
But what is the desire of God for you as the husbandman? Where does God want you to be in your relationship with Him? This is our focus today, as we look into the perfect law of liberty, the Bible for answer.
But God said unto him, thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee, then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God (Lk.12:20-21)
The rich fool in Luke chapter 12 has everything but not God. He has material possessions but does not have godly relationship with God. And so he ended a disaster.
As the husbandman it is good to have the material things of life because God wants you to live a comfortable life (3Jn.1:2, Jer.29:11). But what is much more important to God is for you to live a life that is pleasing to Him through Jesus Christ.
But what will happen to me if I have a good and godly relationship with God through Jesus Christ?
When you have a quality walk with God, you become empowered to obey His commandments and admonition for you as the man, husband and father. Your thoughts, conduct and action begins to reflect the nature of Christ because you have the life of Christ in you (2Cor.5:17). And above all, you are assured of a place in eternity-heaven-after your days on earth are over.
God wants you more than your material possessions. God wants you more than your title or position. God wants to have a relationship with you. Therefore, make this commitment today to be rich towards God through Jesus Christ by giving yourself to the full commandments of the word of God for you as the man, husband and father. A quality walk with Jesus Christ is your greatest heritage.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for not giving You first place in my life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be rich towards You in all my thoughts and ways.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am rich toward God in all that I think, say and do because that is what defines my heritage as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
