One of the secrets to winning over life’s challenges as the husbandman is by the weapon of prayer. And that is what I want us to consider today as a way of strengthening our commitment to walking in the newness of life in Christ Jesus which we started two days ago.
Now, let see the words of Jesus Christ for you.
Men ought to always pray and faint (Lk.18:1)
Jesus says that men ought to always pray and not faint. This means that prayer is the life wire of the husbandman and if he must fulfill the perfect will of God as the man, husband and father, he must give himself to prayer.
As the husbandman, who is walking towards perfection as the good and godly man, husband and father, an effective prayer life is what empowers you to prevail over the circumstances of life. Praying for yourself is a necessity. It is a commandment. It is the supernatural force.
But why is prayer an indispensable weapon of warfare for me as the husbandman?
Prayer builds your power base, confidence and faith in God and His ability (Ps.40:1-3, Jer.33:3). Prayer also connects you to the supernatural power of God that puts you in command of the circumstances of life, giving you authority to stop the influences of satan, sin and the world in and around your life and the lives of your wife and children (Lk.10:19, Jn.10:10, Heb.11:30-32, Rev.12:10-11). Prayer empowers you to grow and mature in the things of God because your spirit man is able to dominate your flesh, hence you are able to hear from God on what to do, what steps to take, where to go, how to go about your plans and decisions, what to say and the ability to discern (Is.30:21). Hallelujah!
Therefore, travail on your knees so that you can always win on your feet and become who God wants you to be as the good and godly man, husband and father. Amen.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from spiritual slumber.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with afresh with the spirit of grace and supplication.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to keep my prayer altar burning continually by Your word and power.
FAITH CONFESSION
I receive the spirit of grace and supplication to pray always because I want to be empowered to live the life of the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.
