THE PERFECT COMBINATION: HIS KINGDOM AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Matt.6:32-33, 1Sam.8:1-3, Gen.2:18-15, Matt.19:5-8, 1Tim.3:1-5, Jn.14:26, Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13, Mk.9:29, Jn.5:39, Eph.5:25-27, Tim.2:15, Eph.6:6

Today’s message is directed specifically to husbandmen who are pastors, evangelists, prophets and teachers of the word of God. And we are taking our text from Matthew chapter 6 and verse 33. It is a familiar Bible passage, and by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, I want to open you to another dimension of truth that will help you become a success both as a minister of the gospel and in your roles as the man, husband and father.

For after all these things do the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first THE KINGDOM OF GOD and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS and all these things shall be added unto you (Matt.6:33)

As a husbandman in ministry, God wants you to succeed both in ministry and in your family life. God wants you to have the best and not the worst of times as the man, husband and father. Hence Jesus Christ tells us the secrets. He says, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. This means there are two things you must seek first to be fruitful in your ministry and family. This is because many have succeeded in the ministry but have failed in their family life (1Sam.8:1-5). Many more have broken marriages and are living with bitterness and unforgiveness. Others are contending with rebellious and disrespectful children. This is because many are seeking to build the ministry, expand the church network and reach out and bring many to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, while neglecting the first assignment which is their family (Gen.2:18-25, Matt.19:5-8).

Now what is the understanding from Jesus’s admonition to the husbandman?

Jesus Christ wants you to promote the kingdom of God on earth by pursuing the call of God upon your life and at the same time doing what is expected of you as the man, husband and father as commanded by the word of God.

This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work………one that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity. For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God? (1Tim.3:1-5)

Your leadership at home is as important to God as your ministry. Hence, you must seek the wisdom of God to work out both your kingdom calling and covenant responsibilities as the man, husband and father with the fear of God. That is the only way you can become a testimony of the good and godly man, husband and father.

Hallelujah!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for failing in my covenant responsibilities as the man, husband and father
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me divine wisdom to balance ministry and family responsibilities.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to succeed both as a minister of the gospel and as the family man.

FAITH CONFESSION

I receive grace and divine wisdom to continue to pursue the work of the kingdom of God on earth and at the same time discharge my covenant responsibilities as the man, husband and father to my wife and children because that is the combination that makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
