Yesterday, we understood from the word of God that the battle field and the place of decision is the mind and if the husbandman must continue to walk in the path of goodness and godliness, he must renew his mind by the word.
As we learn to win the battle in your mind, there is one very important word you must allow to gain root in your mind so that you can bear the fruits of the Spirit of Christ (Gal.5:20-24). It is the love of Christ. The greatest weapon that empowers the husbandman to be like Jesus Christ is the love of Christ that is in his heart and at work in his life. And it is the perfect will of God.
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children, and walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor (Eph.5:1-2)
The Scripture says you must walk in love as Christ also has loved you. The love of Christ must not only be in your heart, it must also greatly influence your thought life, action, conduct and reaction as the man, husband and father.
But how powerful is the love of Christ when you live it?
When you walk in the love of Christ, it restrains you from taking actions that are against the perfect will of God for you as the good and godly husbandman. The love of Christ empowers you to behave like Christ in your conduct, thinking and responses. It makes it easier for you to forgive and forget when you are hurt. It also makes you live a sacrificial life. The love of Christ makes you think of others first even before thinking of yourself. It also empowers you to always look out for the good and improvement of others whether they deserve it or not (1Cor.13:1-8).
How do I then walk in the love of Christ?
The first step is to invite Jesus Christ into your life by praying the prayer of salvation (Jn.3:7). The second step is for you to build on the first by studying your Bible, meditating on the words of Jesus Christ and joining a bible believing church where your spirit man will be nourished (Jos.1:6-8, Ps.1:1-3, 2Cor.5:17). The third step is for you to pray the reality of the character of Jesus Christ into your life (Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13). Finally, you must take action by practicing what the Bible commands you to do in truth (Deut.28:1-2, Acts 1:1).
As the husbandman, you are made in the image and likeness of Christ (Gen.1:26-28). God wants you to be His true representative on earth beginning in your home and in your relationship with your wife and children. You have the power to receive the Spirit of the love of Christ into your heart and walk in love (Lk.10:19). You need to be conscious of your new creation status in Christ and walk in love because that is what makes you the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, let Your love be shed abundantly in my heart and let me bear fruits.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to walk in Your love in all that I do.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a living example of Your divine nature to my wife, children and in the market place, through and through.

I am redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ and by it I have the nature of Christ at work in me, and I am walking in love in all that I do because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
