Yesterday, we discovered from the Word of God that strengthening the spirit man is one of the responsibilities the husbandman has towards staying strong in his walk of becoming the good and godly man, husband, and father. Today, let us look in the Word of God to discover more of the perfect will of God for the husbandman.
But God said unto him, thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee, then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God (Lk.12:20-21)
The rich fool in Luke 12 has everything except God. He has material possessions but lacks a godly relationship with God. And so he ended a disaster.
God wants you to be rich towards Jesus Christ. As the husbandman it is a good thing to have the material things of life because God wants you to live a comfortable life (3Jn.1:2, Jer.29:11). But what is much more important to God is for you to live a life that is pleasing to Him through Jesus Christ. God wants you to have a s, sweet fellowship with Him through Jesus Christ. God wants you to worship through Jesus Christ in truth and in spirit.
But what happens if I have a good and godly relationship with God through Jesus Christ and worship Him in truth and in spirit?
You become spiritually empowered as the godly man, husband, and father. Your thoughts, conduct, and actions begin to reflect the nature of Christ because you have the life of Christ in you (2Cor.5:17). And above all, you are assured of a place in eternity, that is, heaven, after your days on earth are over.
God wants you more than your material possessions. God wants you more than your title or position. God wants you to have a sweet fellowship with Him through Jesus Christ. Therefore, make this commitment today to be rich towards God through Jesus Christ by giving yourself to obeying all the commandments of God for you as the man, husband, and father. A quality walk with Jesus Christ is your greatest heritage.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for not giving You first place in my life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be rich towards You in all my thoughts and ways.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am rich toward God in all that I think, say and do because that is what defines my heritage as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
