Yesterday, we began to explore the Scriptures to discover the secret to the staying power of the husbandman in the face of life’s challenges. And we discovered from the Word of God that the secret is rejoicing in the Lord and praising Him, always.
But why should I rejoice always and not allow sorrow of the heart?
A merry heart doeth good like medicine, but a broken spirit drieth the bones (Pro.17:22)
The moment your spirit man is broken, it affects your physical and mental disposition. It affects the state of your health and may eventually lead to death.
Another reason why you must not let the sorrow of the heart is that it makes you lose the power to move ahead as a man, husband, and father.
Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop, but a good word maketh it glad (Pro.12:25).
As the husbandman, you must understand that you have everything to lose when your spirit is broken.
Therefore, the way out is for you to have a cheerful heart.
Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (Philp.4:6)
You must learn to always give thanks to God, even for the life that you live. You must learn to live a life of gratitude. You must learn to be hopeful in God and His word as you journey through life.
God did not make you the husbandman so that you will end up in defeat and frustration. His intention for you is to bless you and make you a fit and proper vessel of honour to your wife, children, and the world at large (Gen.12:1-3). So, let the joy of the Lord become your strength and be thankful to God for who He is and for what He can do. Praise the Lord!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the spirit of complaining and murmuring.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, mend my broken heart and heal my body and mind.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my eyes to see Your goodness and fill my heart with joy and hope and strength.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am hopeful of a better tomorrow in God and His word because He is my strength and the joy of my life as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.

Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
