GROW UP! (2)

Ye have heard that it hath been said, thou shalt love thy neighbor and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you , love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you. For if you love them which love you what reward have ye? Do not the publicans the same?…… Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Matt.5:43-48)

Yesterday, we began looking at the Word of God regarding God’s ultimate wish for you as the husbandman. We discovered from the Scriptures that God wants you to grow up and be mature. And you can be perfect.

But what must I do to grow up and be mature as the husbandman?

You must first and most importantly have a personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ (Jn.3:3-7, Acts.10:36). Salvation is the first step that you need because it gives you access to the keys of the kingdom that help you to unlock the knowledge from the word of God that will help you grow.

You must also study the word of God with passion and meditate on the word with utmost concentration. This is because the word of God is spirit, and it is life. When it enters your spirit man, it transforms your inner man and helps you bear the fruit of the Spirit in your thoughts, words, actions, and responses just as Christ would (Ezk.2:2, Ps.1:2-3, Jn.6:63).

You must also engage the weapon of prayer and fasting, praying the word of God to gain root in your heart and bear fruit in your life. Prayer of faith enforces the truth of God’s word into your life and empowers you to be as the word of God says (Acts.1:1, Mk.9:29, Matt.6:9-10, Philp.2:13)

Ye have compassed this mountain long enough, turn you northward (Deut.2:3)

You have given enough excuses for not growing up. Now is the time for you to take personal responsibility to engage with the forces of salvation, word study and meditation, prayer, fasting and fasting and associating with good and godly husbandmen.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for disobeying Your instructions and refusing to grow up as the man, husband and father.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me boldness and courage to disassociate myself from all forms of ungodliness.
• Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to exercise power and authority over the influences of satan, sin and the world and make me to bear the fruit of the Spirit.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and I walk in this consciousness in my thought, action, communication, association and relationship, bearing the fruit of the Spirit because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
