AWAKE! AWAKE!! AWAKE!!!

Today’s message is to remind every husbandman that the time to start behaving like Christ in his relationship with his wife and his children is now and must be sustained as a lifestyle. The time to start building good and godly legacies as the husbandman is now. This is why you must awake from your irresponsible life and be alive to living a life of Christ.

But how do I awake unto living a life that pleases God as the husbandman?

And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lust (Roms.13:11-14)

You must cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light, which is the life of Christ in all you do, both at home and in the marketplace.

You must stop drunkenness. Drinking alcohol is dishonourable, and being drunk is shameful, too (Pro.20:1). There are non-alcoholic wines that you can drink; why opt for alcohol? If you are like Jesus, you will not drink alcohol, and that is who you are.

You must stop the strife and envy you have with your wife and children and walk in love of Christ towards them. It is disgraceful that you are keeping malice with your wife and children. Let the love of Christ dwell in your heart richly and by it overcome strife and malice (Rom.5:5).

You must overcome the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life. Rather, you must be filled with the life of contentment, holiness, and humility. Adultery, stealing, cheating, lying, bearing false witness, pride, and the likes are not your nature. As the good and godly husbandman, your nature is Christ and in Him you don’t find ungodliness and unrighteousness.

As the husbandman, God places a high premium on your life, so He wants you to take responsibility to make your life count for Him, for your wife, your children, and in the marketplace, bringing glory and praise to His name. That is what makes you the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for not honouring You with my life each day.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me Your ways and guide me through Your word as I study.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to make quality decisions that will please You every moment of my life as the man, husband and father.

FAITH CONFESSION

Today is a new day for me and I am taking practical steps to obey all that God commands me to do as the man, husband and father because that is the pathway to becoming the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

PRAYER OF SALVATION/REDEDICATION

Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
