The Father’s Blessing

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Num.6:22-26

More Scriptures: Gen.1:26-28, Gen.27:30, Lk.2:34

And God blessed them and God said unto them, be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth (Gen.1:28)

One of the greatest platforms that God has provided for you as the husbandman is the platform of fatherhood. The fatherhood nature of your headship is the opportunity you have to impart and transfer blessings to your seeds. And through this means, the blessings you have pronounced on your seed continues from generation to generation. So, the question that you must ask yourself as a father is how well you have blessed your flock. When God created you, He blessed you. He did not curse you. And He expects you to bless your sheep in like manner because He made you in His image and likeness (Gen.1:26). As a father, your children are your extension into your future. They are the bridge that connects your today with your tomorrow. Abraham blessed Isaac and Isaac became great. Isaac blessed Jacob and Jacob became great. In Pro.31:28, the Scripture has this to say about blessing your wife also. Her children arise up and call her blessed, her husband also and he praiseth her (Pro.31:28). It is not out of place to bless your wife also. It is your covenant responsibility to bless her.

But how do I bless my sheep? You bless them by laying your hands on them and pronounce the blessings of the Lord. You can do this daily, weekly, monthly or as you are led by the Spirit of God. And if you are not sure of what to say, go to Numbers chapter 6:22-26 and bless them with the word of God from the Scripture. However, you must be committed to be a man of the word. You must make the studying of the Bible your lifestyle. Furthermore, you must be born again and must enter into a covenant walk of living a holy and righteous life (Gen.17:1-2, Gen.18:19, 1Jn.2:29). You are never wrong when you pronounce the blessing upon your wife and children. It is your assurance for a fulfilled life as a good and godly husband.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, confirm every word that I declare over my wife and children, speedily.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me what to declare over my flock.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower my spirit with insight and revelation of Your word.

FAITH CONFESSION

I shall see the positive declarations I make over my wife and children come to pass speedily because that is my heritage as a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
