Your Sure Foundation

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: 2Tim.2:19-21

More Scriptures: Gen.1:28, Jn.14:6, Heb.9:8

As a husband who has been called by God to be good and godly, what type of foundation have you laid? This is because the quality of the foundation you lay will determine the strength of your family fold. Everything you will ever desire in your sheepfold is built on and around the foundation you have laid.

Nevertheless, the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal. The Lord knoweth them that are his. And let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver but also of wood and of earth and some to honour and some to dishonor. If any man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel of honour, sanctified and meet for the master’s use and prepared unto every good work (2Tim.2:19-21)

You must partner with God to lay a godly foundation. God’s will for you is to become a good and godly husband. God wants to make you a vessel of honour unto Himself and your wife and children. God wants you to be a shining example to the world. But He needs a righteous foundation to build on. As the head of your family, you must depart from iniquity and sinful life styles, otherwise your foundation cannot stand sure. Your life, your home, your values and convictions must be founded on the word of God. You must allow the word of God to be your final authority on any and every decision. You must not allow the tradition of men and the principles of the world to be the raw materials you require for your foundation.

And as you partner with God to lay a godly foundation, you become useful to God, your wife, children and the world. Your flock will honour you and the world will glorify God because of your godly lifestyle. You also become a channel of good works to those you are leading. You must remember that you are representing God in your family fold and in the lives of your flock. God is counting on you to make it count.
