The True Measure Of A Godly Husband

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: 2Thess.2:16-17

More Scriptures: 1Tim.4:12, Lk.8:15, Rom.6:22

Now our Lord Jesus Christ, Himself and God, even our father which hath loved us and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace. Comfort your hearts and stablish you in every good word and work (2Thess.2:16-17).

Your true measure as a good and godly husband is in your words and your works both to your flock and to humanity. What this means is that you can only say that you are a good and godly husband by your good word and good works. This includes the way you conduct your conversation towards your wife and children, the sacrifices you have made and are willing to make, and also how well you have been able to discharge your functions to your flock and others. As the head of your family and the spiritual leader over your flock, you must understand that God has established you unto every good word and works through Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of a good and godly husband. So, if you notice that the words you speak or your conversation is not Christ-like, then know that you are not under the influence of Christ. And if you do not have evidence of good testimonies from your flock and others around you of how well you have been an example of a good and godly husband, then know you are under-performing. The world understands the importance of true measurement. You must not be any different.

So, as the head of the family and the one who has the mandate to provide godly examples to your wife and children, you must cooperate with the Person of the Holy Spirit for grace and empowerment to become a good and godly husband both in words and in works. God will demand from you your stewardship. He will require you to give account of how you have functioned as the head of the family. That is how you will be measured by God, hence you must make your life count positively in the lives of your flock.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be a good bearing seed in the lives of my flock.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a faithful steward with results to show for my work as a husband.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, grant me grace to bear fruits after Your example.

FAITH CONFESSION

I live my life to please Jesus Christ and be a good example both in words and in works to my wife and children because that is what makes me a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
