Main Scriptures: Lk.5:36-39
More Scriptures: 2Cor.5:17, Rom.8:9, Gal.6:15-16
I want every husband to take a deep breath for a moment and review all his activities and actions in the last 30 days. If you call it the 30 days challenge, you are not wrong. I believe that you have considered them. Now, relate every action with the word of God. Does it fit into the way God wants you to relate with your wife, children and the society? Can those around you sincerely testify that you are indeed a new wine in a new bottle-A GOOD AND GODLY HUSBAND? This is the challenge before you as the head of your family, going forward.
Jesus speaking in Lk.5:36-39, explains the danger of living a life of mismatch. He said, No man putteth new wine into old bottles, else the new wine will burst the bottles and be spilled and the bottles shall perish. God doesn’t want you to be a misfit to your wife and children. He desires that you to be a fit and proper leader in your family fold. This is what He wants for you. But new wine must be put into new bottles and both are preserved. As the head of your family and the spiritual authority in your home, the way you live your life will have either a positive or negative impact on your flock. You cannot allow the world system to determine how you lead your flock. The word of God and the life of Christ must determine how you live your life. You cannot carry on with your old and ungodly ways of conducting yourself and expect that you will influence your flock for good and for God. You must remember that you are like Christ in your family kingdom the same way Jesus Christ is to the body of Christ (Eph.5:25). Therefore, if you want to grow to become a good and godly husband, you must honour the word of God above all men and suggestions. And because you are ordained by God to be like Him in all things to your wife and children, you can and must continue to ask for His help in all that He commands you to do. That is what you need to become the new man in Christ Jesus.
