She Is A Joint Heir With You

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Philippians 1:7

More Scriptures: Jos.24:15. Deut.6:7, Acts 3:6

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of YOU SHARE IN GOD’S GRACE WITH ME (Philippians 1:3-7) NIV

As the head of your family, God has endued you with graces. For example you have the grace of teaching because you are a pastor and shepherd (1Tim.3:2). You have the grace of intercession because you are a prophet and an intercessor (Gal.4:19). The will of God is for you to share the graces with your sheep. God wants you to impart your sheep with His grace upon your life. This is the one major ways you can influence your wife and children for good and God. So, the question before you today is this, have you imparted your wife and children with the grace of God upon your life? What measure of grace have you imparted on your flock? And finally what type of grace have you imparted on them?

As the head of your family and the spiritual leader of your wife and children, it is important for you to live out your life through your wife and children. Apostle Paul had this wonderful testimony about his relationship with his followers in Philippi. There was something about his life that could be seen in the lives of his followers. This is what God expects of you as the head of your family. People should relate with your wife and children and see them reflect your principles. In Acts of the Apostle, the people recognized the character of Jesus Christ, the perfect example of a good and godly husband, in the lives of His disciples. This was after He had departed the world. “For these men have been with Christ”.

But for you to be able to impart your sheep with the grace of God on your life, you must take the responsibility to work with the Person of the Holy Spirit to develop and sustain the grace and virtues. This is because to whom much is given, so much is expected. And you cannot give what you don’t have (Acts 3:6). Secondly, you must deliberately and consciously impart your sheep. Job speaking said, “For I know my redeemer liveth”. You must come to the knowing that you have a responsibility to transfer the grace. And You do this by laying your hands upon them and declarations. You have a wonderful and an enviable position as a good and godly husband. You must take full advantage of this glorious call and be a blessing to your wife and children.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, honour Your Words that I declare over my sheep.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to grow in all Your graces for my office.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to walk in the fullness of my call as a shepherd.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am full of the grace of God and I transfer it to my wife and children because that is my greatest legacy as a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
