As the head of your family, are you convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that your wayward and rebellious sheep can be transformed by the power of God? Do you believe that God is not through with you, your wife and children? If you are not convinced, then I encourage you to think again and please study Romans chapter 4 and verses 19-21. Sometimes as the head of your family, the attitude of your wife and children could make you wonder if anything good can come out of them. I believe very strongly in my spirit that as you are reading this devotional, you are wondering if your wife and children can manifest godly attitudes. I want to assure you today that there is hope for you and there is a sure guarantee that your sheep have not been written off by God, so you must not.
Your wife and children are good and godly heritage from God. And God gave them to you to enjoy and not manage. It doesn’t matter what anyone may have said about them. It doesn’t also matter what satan may have whispered into your ears. No matter the negative picture people or even yourself may have about your wife and children, you can partner with God and the Holy Spirit to effect the positive changes you desire. You must also not be deceived by the offer presented to you by the devil to abandon your sheep because of their negative attitudes. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith, giving glory to God. And being FULLY PERSUADED that what he had promised he was able to perform (Rom.4:19-21). Abraham, the husband of Sarah, experienced delay in conception. Even after God promised to bless him with a covenant child, he had to wait for twenty-five years for the fulfillment of the promise. Even when his physical body failed him and there seemed to be no hope, he refused to give up. He staggered not at the promise of God and was fully persuaded that what God has promised to do, He will do exactly that and much more.
That is the mentality that God wants you to have. God wants you to trust Him to resolve the crises in your sheepfold. God wants you to be fully persuaded that your wife and children are not lost causes. They can be restored. They can be revived and they can be perfect. God doesn’t want you to dwell with your sheep in complaining, murmuring, unforgiveness, bitterness and hatred. He wants you to dwell with them in love, peace, hope, faith and patience. You are a worker of good. And as you walk in hope, faith and conviction to keep your family as a united entity, you will receive the blessings from the Lord who made you the head of the family. So, be hopeful.
