THE WEAPON OF VICTORY IN YOUR HAND

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Ezk.9:1

More Scriptures: Heb.11:32, Jn.10:10, Rev.12:11

He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, every man with his destroying weapon in his hand (Exk.9:1.)

If you read this Scripture it speaks of warfare. It talks about a man who has charge over his territory and has in his hands the weapon to defend the city. This speaks to you as the head of your family. You have a city and that is your sheepfold. And in that sheepfold you have your sheep-your wife and children. Because you are their shepherd, you are in total control of your sheepfold. However, you need to have the weapon that will guarantee the security, safety, peace and happiness of your sheep and sheepfold. Just as you have the watchman in the watchtower who is equipped with a gun is the same way you have to have your weapon set. That is what the Bible says in Ezk.9:1. You need a weapon.

But why do I need one? The principal reason why you need the weapon is because your adversary, satan, goes about looking for the sheepfold he will destroy. He lost the fellowship he once had with God in heaven so he is determined to destroy as many family lives as possible. Any wonder the alarming rate of divorce cases around the world and amongst Christians. In Jn.10:10, the Word of God tells us that satan came to steal, kill and destroy. Satan doesn’t want you to enjoy the sweet fellowship that God has for you and your sheepfold. He wants you to let down your guard by making you to live in bitterness, envy, unforgiveness, wrath, malice, adultery and uncontrolled appetite for sin and addiction.

What then is the weapon that I need to have in my hand that guarantees my victory as the head of my family? It is the weapon of the word of God. The word of God as contained in the Bible is both life-giving and life-saving. It functions in two distinct ways. For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword……. (Heb.4:12). The Scripture is not just for reading, it is also for warfare. You can use the WORD OF GOD to restore the honour you deserve from your sheep; recover whatever you and your sheep may have lost and stop ungodly influences. So, for you to use the weapon of the word effectively, you must do what Rom.10:10 says. With the heart man believeth and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Rom.10:10). You must believe in your heart what you read from the Bible and declare it with your mouth. Also, you must be the man of the word because a wordless husband is a worthless and powerless husband. You must continue to equip yourself with the word to be in command of the happenings in and around your sheepfold (2Tim.2:15). You must be watchful to be worthy. Make your life count positively.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my eyes of understanding as I study Your word.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, let Your word in my heart which I confess with my mouth be useful to my sheep.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from spiritual slumber and make me to be awake for my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I dive into the study of my Bible to find the arsenal that guarantees victory for my wife and children and sheepfold because that is my joy as the good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
