Have you asked yourself what would have happened or how long it would have taken to find Jesus Christ, if the father and mother did go together to search for Him? I can assure you that it would take them more days with lots of frustration for them to locate where Jesus Christ was. This is why I remarked that it takes the cooperation of the husband and the wife to find their fruitfulness, their peace, joy, protection and strength.
Jesus Christ, when he was twelve years went up with His parents to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. But in the midst of the celebration, Jesus went to the temple and sat with doctors and the highly intelligent to hear their wisdom and also ask questions. And his parents returned to their home thinking that Jesus had found His way home. Unfortunately, when His parents got home, they did not find Him. They became worried and concerned about the whereabout of their Son, Jesus, just as any parent would. And in verse 48, something interesting happened. Joseph and Mary went looking for their son together. Behold thy Father (Joseph) and I (Mary) sought (searched for) thee (Jesus) Lk.2:48. Both the husband and wife worked as a united team, they found what was missing and destroyed frustration and discouragement. That was my testimony as the head of my family when we had challenge with having children. It was a fierce battle that only God can help us win. So, my wife and I partnered with God. God spoke to me while in the office about the reason why the enemy was contending with our fruitfulness and He confirmed to my wife from the Bible what He told me.
This is the same attitude that God expects from you as the shepherd of your sheepfold. No matter what is missing in your family life, if only you will cooperate with your wife, you will find it very quickly. It may be that you have been married for some time now and your wife is yet to conceive and give your children. It could also be that the health and vitality of your wife and children is missing. You can find it. It is in those times that you walk together with your wife rather than run away or let her be the only person to go searching for the answers. Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labour (Ecc.4:9). And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him (Ecc.4:12). When you combine with your wife to find, you gain speed. It also terminates frustration and discouragements. It further guarantees supernatural victory. This is why Jesus said, whatever the two of you shall agree as touching ANYTHING on earth shall be established in heaven (Matt.18:19). Therefore, you must lead from the front and be at the forefront with your wife searching for that which God has prepared for your sheepfold.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, please give me a humble heart to trust my wife.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy every visible and invincible barrier between my wife and I.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, help my wife and I to walk together in unity.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am determined to work and walk with my wife in love and as a team to find every missing heritage of God for our sheepfold because that is what makes me the good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
