INTENSIFY THE PRAYER ALTAR

Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal, knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven. CONTINUE IN PRAYER, AND WATCH IN THE SAME with thanksgiving (Col.4:1-2). As the head of the family, the best way to keep at bay the onslaught of the devil against you, your sheep and sheepfold is to intensify your prayer altar. As the spiritual authority and leader in your home, you cannot do without the power of prayer. Truthfully, you start your home with prayers, you build it by prayers, you grow to become the godly man, husband and father by prayers. Prayer is like the air you breath and that is what sustains your headship as the husband of your home. It is true that you have been going through challenging times with your wife, children, finance and business and health and even your spiritual life. You must not give up but pray and continue to sustain your hope for positive change through prayers. This is what the Scripture says. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints (Eph.6:18

As a husband, it is very dangerous to leave prayers to only Sunday or weekly services. It is more dangerous to leave it to your wife and children. There is no way you can be strong and fit to reign as the king of your home with this attitude. God did not send your wife and children to lead you. He sent you to lead them. You are the shepherd and they are the sheep. You are like Jesus Christ to them. Don’t transfer the art of praying to them because many husbands have died watching while others have lost their spiritual authority in their sheepfold. You cannot be in charge by prayerlessness. Pray! Now, how do sustain my prayer altar? The first is to judge God faithful. When you judge Him faithful, you become confident to trust Him with your prayers. Let us come boldly unto his presence (Heb.4:16). Secondly, you must strengthen your faith by hope. For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease (Job 14:7). Nothing gives you strength to pray like hope and nothing keeps you going on as a leader in your home like hope. The challenges are real. But more real is the truth that God still answers prayers. And this should motivate you to pray for your wife and children and over every challenge that may have rendered your office non-functional and ineffective. You must intensify your prayer altar. You must engage it to secure your position as the head of the family and make your headship count greatly in the lives of your sheep because that is what ultimately makes you the good and godly husbandman. You can’t be wrong with prayers. You will win.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, please destroy every force of discouragement working in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, restore hope to my faith and help me to be steadfast.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower my faith to produce results.

FAITH CONFESSION

I stir up my prayer altar with fresh fire from heaven and continue to engage myself in it because that is what secures, empowers and opens great doors for me and my sheep as the good and godly shepherd in Jesus name. Amen.
