THERE IS NO ACCIDENTAL GODLY HUSBAND

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Lk.16:16

More Scriptures: Pro.16:1, Job 11:13, 2Tim.2:15

Let me begin by saying that there is no accidental godly husband. Every godly husband you see around you today and even those you read about fought hard to become godly. So, you must never think or assume that you will become the good and godly husband by wishing it. Do not think that because you are married and a pastor, you have become the godly husband automatically. Do not also think that because you are anointed with supernatural faith that heals the sick and raises the dead, you have become the godly husband. Cases abound of great preachers and wonderful church workers that have lost their sheepfold. This is a wake up call for you to know that there is a price to pay to attain the enviable position of the godly shepherd. You must be ready, willing and committed to the demands of being the godly shepherd.

So, what does it take to become the good and godly husband? The first step is for you to have a quality relationship with Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husband. This requires you to repent of your sins and embrace the salvation that God offers to mankind through the death and resurrection of His beloved Son, Jesus Christ. This means that you must be born again. Until you have a relationship with Him, you cannot understand His way, truth and life. The second step is for you to give attention to the study of the word of God and other anointed materials like tapes and books. It is said that knowledge is light. The moment you know about God’s expectation of you as the man, husband and father, you become confident. You are also motivated and you want to act like it to your sheep. Study to show yourself approved as a workman who is not ashamed but rightly dividing the word of truth (2Tim.2:6). The third step is for you to take the position of a fighter. The Word of God describes you and I as soldiers of Christ. As soldiers, we live prepared and commissioned to protect the territorial integrity of the sheepfold. As the shepherd of the sheepfold, you must live prepared because the devil is going about looking for the sheepfold he will scatter. And this is why Jesus said strike the shepherd and the sheep will scatter (Zech.13:7). There are two major ways you fight. You fight on your knees and with the confession of your mouth (Rom.10:10). You must tarry in prayers with faith in your heart to break into the realm of living the life of the good and godly husband. Finally, you must continue to be thankful to God for making you the husband and head of your family, irrespective of your failures and struggles.

God has ordained you to reign as a king and priest in your sheepfold. You must not disappoint God. You must make your life count positively in the lives of your wife and children. That is all that matters.
