Main Scriptures: Jn.2:13-21
More Scriptures: Exodus 14:14, John 10:10, James 4:7
In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves, and other sitting at the tables exchanging money (John 2:14) MSG.
The Bible gives us illustrations about how Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husband, lived His live on earth. So, I want you to see your sheepfold from the perspective of the temple of God. Now, imagine that just as Jesus Christ found men turning the temple of God into a market place is how you have found satan buying and selling in your sheepfold leading to in-fighting, bitterness, lovelessness, unforgiveness and many manifestations that are contrary to the will of God for your family. What will you do? Would you watch or fight? And whose responsibility is it to correct the error? From the Scripture, you discover that Jesus Christ, the Shepherd did not watch. He chased those who came to abuse the temple. He didn’t wait for any of His followers to do the job. As the head of your family and the pastor over your wife and children, God handed over the affairs of your family-fold to you and that is why you are the head (Genesis 2-15-18, Gen.3:9). And they (husband and wife) heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. Then the Lord God CALLED TO ADAM AND SAID, WHERE ARE YOU? (Genesis 3:9) Why didn’t God call the wife? It is simply because the family wasn’t handed over to the wife but to the husband. So, it is your job to defend your sheepfold.
Now, that you have understood that you are to respond, how would you go about it? John 2:15 gives you the answer. So, he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables (John 2:15). The Groom made a whip and chased every ungodly activity out of the temple. As the head of your family, the cords you require to make the whip you need to chase satan and his influences out of your home are prayer, fasting and the aggressive and consistent confession of the word and promises of God over your wife, children and home. The Scripture makes us to understand that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. That constant fighting between you and your wife is a stronghold. That repeated disrespect from your wife and children is a stronghold. That obvious and continued mistrust between you and your sheep is a stronghold. Whatever makes your home unpleasant and on a long continuance is a stronghold. Therefore, get the whip and tell satan, “get lost”.One of my fathers in the faith, Bishop David Oyedepo, once said that what you don’t resist is permitted to remain, and what you will not eat doesn’t smell.

FAITH CONFESSION
I take over my sheep and sheepfold from the abuses and influences of satan and its agents because I have power with God to do that as the good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
