A SAVIOUR HAS ARRIVED

Spread the love

Main Scripture: Lk.19:9-10

More Scriptures: 1Sam.23:5, Ac.11:14, Is.19:20

And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost (Lk.19:9-10). From our Bible passage today, Jesus was teaching the people the importance of a savior. He said that when a savior enters a home or place, the people are saved. His coming brings rays of hope and joy because what the savior seeks to do is to search for and save those that are lost. Now, as a husband and the leader in your home, what value has your presence added to the lives of your wife and children? Are you in their lives to find out what is missing and help them recover it? These questions are very important for you to answer if you want to make your life as a husband of relevance to your flock. As the head of your family, you are a critical asset to your wife and children. You are their priest, pastor, shepherd, leader, prophet, mentor, guardian, provider, peace maker, comforter and much more.

So, you are not just one of the numbers in their lives. This is why at every juncture of your relationship with them, you must strive to be excellent. Jesus Christ, the perfect example of a good and godly husband, came to seek and save you and I and everyone. He did not have a prejudged idea about man rather, He came with an open hand of love forgiveness and compassion. He did not come to prove who is right and who is wrong. His coming to the earth and then His death and resurrection justified every sinner. This is what Jesus expects from you. He made you the head of your wife and children not to judge them or oppress them but to be part of the solution to helping them find their footing in the pathway of life. You are to help them rediscover who they are in God and run with this mentality.

Your presence should motivate them to think better, higher and become more productive. But how do I ensure that I remain a savior in my family kingdom, inspite of any unfavourable circumstances? First, you must remain hopeful. In Heb.6:11, the Scripture says, and we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end. Never mind what your wife and children negatively display, you must not allow the devil to make you see the bad sides of life. Let the assurance that the end for them shall be better, fill your heart. And hope is what powers your confidence. Secondly, you must maintain focus. In Matt.6:22, the word of God says, if thy eyes be single, your whole body would be full of light. Singleness of heart is what you need and that is what you must fight for.
