THE WISDOM FROM GOD GIVES YOU VICTORY (1)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Jas.3:13-17

More Scriptures: Gen.2:18, Philp.4:8, Pro.10:18

As the head of the family, it is very important for you to understand that you cannot successfully lead your wife and children and become all that God wants you to be without the wisdom that comes from Him. You cannot operate by the wisdom of man or employ the wisdom of the devil and think you can become a victorious husband. All the struggles and fights that you are having with your sheep is because you don’t have the wisdom of God working in you and through you. The cultures or traditions of your village cannot bring you victory. And this is why there are so many husbands failing as the godly man, husband and father. Do you know why this is so? It is because the office of the husbandhood is created by God. This is what the Scripture says. And God said that it is not good for the man to be alone. He will make for him a helpmeet (Gen.2:14-18). So, God saw the need for the man to have a partner-wife. And He created the office that you and I occupy today by the grace and privilege of God. What this means is that, because He created the office, He has the master plan for its success and not your church, village, community or parents. And so, it is wisdom for you to connect to Him.

But what makes the wisdom from God more powerful and assuring than the ones that come from the devil or the society? While the wisdom from the world, satan and your intellect is full of chaos, is rash and lacks mercy and peace, the wisdom from God offers you something completely different. But the wisdom that is from above (God) is first pure, then peaceable, gentle and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy (James 3:17). Now, any action you take toward your sheep that does not bring peace, and is not truthful is not from God. So, if the way you treat your wife and children does not result in good fruits and is full of hypocrisy is not from God. God wants the words that you speak to your wife and children, the thoughts you harbour in your heart and the way you conduct your life whether in their presence or not, to be gentle, full of mercy and just.

So, you must always think along the line of Philippians 4:8. This is what it says. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of god report, if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things. Remember that you cannot be greater than what you think and you cannot act better towards your sheep more than the quality of your thoughts. This is because as a man thinks in his heart so is he (Pro.10:18)

I truly appreciate the blessing of this devotion. I come with Brotherly advice:A couple of items I have noticed that are the incorrect are the abbreviations of the books of the Bible. It makes it difficult to look up the verses in the Bible. Also, Grammar and spelling of some words as well have been regularly mis-spelled. Hopefully the Editor can correct this asap for the future devotions.
I thank you again for encouraging me to be a better Husbandman!
