The wisdom from God is the surest weapon you would ever need to reign as the priest, prophet and pastor over the sheep of God that has been committed into your hands. Outside God’s wisdom, you will struggle through your role as the godly man, husband and father. But how do you get this wisdom from God? The first step is for you to be born again by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and savior. Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of the godly husbandman said, ye must be born again (Jn.3:7). Why is this so? It is so important because it is the gateway to link up with the Author of wisdom. So, if you have not given your life to Christ, I encourage you to please make the decision. The second step is for you to continually and unashamedly acknowledge Him as the Lord over all in your life, including the action and decision that you are about to take concerning the issues you have with your wife and children. It is when you make Jesus Christ the owner of your life that He gains access into your life to guide and lead you in the way that you should go. The Bible tells us this. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want……….He leadeth me in the way that I should go (Ps.23:1-3). The third step is for you to ask God to fill you with His wisdom not just for the asking but in faith and for the blessings it brings to you and your sheep. In James chapter one, the Word of God says this much. If any lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given to him (Jas.1:5). And Jesus speaking said, ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find and knock and the door shall be open to you. For everyone that asketh receiveth and he that seeketh findeth and to him that knocketh it shall be opened (Matt.7:7-8). Never assume anything. Assumption is the lowest level of thinking. Ask Jesus Christ in prayers to teach you how to lead, respond to, and impact your sheep. The fourth step is for you to trust God that He will give you His kind of wisdom. Without trusting Him, you cannot access His wisdom because the Word of God tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God and he that must come to God must first believe that he is ……(Heb.11:6). Finally, you must surround yourself with people and resource materials that will inspire and motivate you towards becoming a good and godly man, husband and father. You cannot be better than the association that you keep. The Bible says bad company corrupts good manners.
As you engage these spiritual demands, you will become that godly husbandman that your wife and children will be proud of and the people around you will testify about it.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill me with the Spirit of wisdom and empower me to be like You to my wife and children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be not just a hearer of Your word but a doer of same.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to accept my position as the good and godly shepherd.
