WHERE THE BATTLE MEETS?

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Eph.6:10-18

More Scriptures: Lk.18:1, 2Tim.1:7, Jer.23:33

As the head of your family, have you ever considered where the battle for the rescue and sustenance of your sheepfold meet? When your wife suddenly begins to misbehave or your children become rebellious to you, where does the battle meet? Well, when you notice these untoward behaviors from your sheep, it is obvious that you are being challenged and a battle line has been drawn. So the question is, where do you meet the battle? The word of God has provided you the answer. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers in high places……(Eph.6:12). As the good shepherd, you meet the battle on your knees, praying. You must understand that one of the weapons God has provided for you to stabilize your sheep and secure the territory of your sheepfold is prayer. The Bible tells us this much in Lk. 18:1. Men ought to always pray and not faint (Lk.18:1). God is interested in you and your flock. God enjoys seeing you and your sheep live in harmony. God wants to fellowship with your family fold. So, when challenges throw themselves at you, do engage your wife and children in a fight. Take it the battle to the enemy’s gate.

But for you to successfully do that, you must recognize that your need for a relationship with Jesus Christ. You must be born again. It is more than an identity, it is about a growing relationship with Jesus Christ (2Cor.5:17). So, if you are born again but you have not deepened your relationship with Jesus Christ, the perfect example of a good and godly husband, start today. Get a Bible, buy books, and study devotionals like this and pray in the Holy Ghost. The second action point for you is to walk in confidence. As the husband, it is very important for you to know that you are not alone in your walk as the head of the family. Jesus Christ promised you that. I will never forsake you (Jer.23:33). So, if He is with you, you can be confident to confront every challenge you may be having with your wife and children. The Bible gives you this assurance. Christ has not given you the spirit of fear, but of boldness and of a sound mind (2Tim.1:7). Thirdly, you must walk in faith. In Heb.11:33. Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouth of lions (Heb.11:33). As the pastor over your sheep, you cannot successfully reign without faith in God and His ability. If you don’t exercise faith, you cannot maximize the weapon of prayer because if you must come to God you must come believing that He rewards (Heb.11:6). These are some of the blessings that you enjoy when you let the battle meet you on your knees. Firstly, you gain command of the spiritual atmosphere of your sheepfold, thereby influencing them unto righteous living. Secondly, you eliminate continued confrontation with your flock. Thirdly, you establish the peace of God in your sheepfold. And as your wife and children shall honour you, you become their mentor.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with the power to win the battle in my family.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, embolden me to overcome all the wiles of the devil.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver my sheep from every ungodly influence.

FAITH CONFESSION

I take the battle to the gates of my adversary, satan, through the weapons of prayers, faith and bold declarations because that is what makes me a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
