LOOK FROM WHERE YOU ARE (1)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Gen.13:14-15

More Scriptures: Jer.1:11, Am.7:8, Pro.29:18

And the Lord said unto Abraham, after that Lot was separated from him, lift up now thine eyes and look from the place where thou are northward, and southward, and eastward and westward, for all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it and to thy seed for ever. (Gen.13:14-15).

I must confess and admit that the Spirit of revelation and interpretation is available to everyone who will subscribe to the demands. I have read this Scripture several times. But just recently while I was in church, a new light came to me. And that is what I want to share with every husband. As the head of our families, we have always focused at the challenges we may be having with our sheep. And the more we look at them, the more it hinders us from seeing the bigger and better pictures about wives and children. This attitude prolongs the tension at home and creates pressure, bitterness and hatred between us and our sheep.

God wants you to look away from the problems and challenges you are having with your wife and children and rather look at the great future God has for you and your sheep. Abraham, the husband of Sarah, had a big challenge with his nephew. His nephew wanted to take over the entire business. Rather than look at the remnants that his nephew left for him, he lifted his eyes and looked from the issue into the future. That is what God wants you to do-to look beyond the faults and mistakes of your flock. God has a great future for your wife and children and He wants you to see it.

But for you to look from the failures of your sheep into a glorious future, you must allow the word of God to gain root in your heart. It is the quantity and quality of the word of God stored in your heart that influences your action toward your wife and children. The word of God paints the picture of the future of your wife and children. It provides you the framework of your wife and children as designed by God. If you allow the will of God to take hold of your spirit, you will not struggle to look away from their faults. There is no book that can give you the true pictures of your flock. Only the Bible can. The Bible is not just a collection of historical events. It is the mind of God for humanity in print. The more you give attention to it, the better your life becomes as a good and godly husband (Pro.4:20-23). Use it to help your sheep.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from spiritual blindness.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me seeing eyes and hearing ears.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be perfect in my walk with You and my wife and children

FAITH CONFESSION

I look away from the weakness and faults of my wife and children and I focus on the glorious future God has for them because that is what makes me the good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
