WORK OUT SESSION (1)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: 1Tim.4:8-10

More Scriptures: 1Cor.8:8, Col.2:23, Ps.37:4

For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. For to this end we labour and suffer reproach because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, especially those who believe (1Tim.4:8-10).

Generally, as we grow in age, we seem to be very conscious of our health. We try our hands on so many activities that we think and believe would help us reduce our weight and keep our vital organs in perfect shape and condition. So, we engage ourselves in work-outs. We run and walk long distances. Although the work-out sessions may be demanding and very strenuous, yet we still go ahead to do them because of the goals that we have set for ourselves.

Now, this is the kind of mind set God wants you to have as a husband. God wants you to work out your heritage as the shepherd, priest and pastor in your family fold. God wants you to continue to bring your body under His control and Lordship. As the head of your family, you must understand that as you grow in your leadership function in your family kingdom, the demands and expectations also increases. You would discover that your reach becomes wider, your prayer life intensifies, and your expectation also grows. The Bible speaking says that we should exercise ourselves unto godliness.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to walk in divine wisdom as I lead my flock.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my eyes of understanding to behold wonders from Your word.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every form of distraction and discouragement.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am committed to the demands of a good and godly husband because that is my heritage in Jesus Name. Amen.
